Minimum System Requirements:Pentium II – 400, or equivalent (Robocode should run on a slower system, but slowly) 64MB of RAM (possibly 32, but no guarantees) Approx. 10MB of free disk space, plus temp space for install.
Prerequisites Java 6 update 7 JDK. This can be downloaded from this website Install this application by accepting all the default values.
Check with your IT Support Department that you are allowed install software. Essentially, Robocode is a set of directories and it will install without the need to change machine settings. Its always better to check beforehand, so you dont infringe the computer use policies of a school. Your teacher may also be able to advise.
Download the sentry robots and place the sentry folder in c:\robocode\robots
Installation
When you have obtained the file, double click on it to launch the installer. When the installer launches, accepting the terms of agreements,will begin the installation program.
When prompted for an installation directory, select C:\Robocode or your network drive, if you do not have access to the hardisk. When you have selected a location accept your choice to start installing the RoboCode files. This may take a number of minutes depending on where the install file is located and where you are installing to.
At the end of the install process you will be asked if you wish to create a shortcut on your desktop. Accept YES or NO as advised by your Programming Lecturer or Computer Support Department.
The installation process is now completed. You can launch robocode by clicking the shortcut, by navigating to your installion \robocode directory and executing the robocode.bat file ( windows )
