Havok | Simon joined the games middleware company Havok in 2009 as a software engineer on the Cloth team. Prior to working at Havok, he worked as a senior software engineer in the Graphics, Vision and Visualisation Group in Trinity College Dublin, working on a project which involved creating a simulated lifelike virtual Dublin. Simon holds a PhD in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin, where he specialised in real-time crowd rendering and simulation. | Dressed for Success: Using Havok Cloth to Improve the Realism of Game Characters
Havok Cloth is a development tool designed to minimize the time that game artists spend on animating the behaviour of character garments and environmental cloth. It has been used to increase the believability of game characters for cutting-edge games such as Heavy Rain, UFC, Undisputed 2010 and DJ Hero 2. This talk presents an overview of the technology and how this product can be used to bring game characters to life.
