In 2008 the XNA Ireland Challenge was added to Games Fleadh events. The XNA event honored the 30th Anniversary of SPACE INVADERS(c) Taito Corp. 1978, 2010. Entries were received from University of Ulster, University of Limerick, Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, Carlow Institute of Technology, Dublin Institute of Technology, Tipperary Institute and winning team Gort Community School.

In 2009 the XNA Ireland Challengehonored the 30th Anniversary of Asteroids (c) Atari Interactive Corporation. 1979, 2010. Entries were received from University of Ulster, University of Limerick, Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, Dublin Institute of Technology, Tipperary Institute and winning team Dublin Institiute of Technology.

The XNA Ireland Challenge was judged by representatives from Microsoft, BlackRock Studios and PopCap Games International, all of whom we hope to welcome back to Games Fleadh 2010. The anniversary celebration was covered cross-media including prime time news.

The XNA Ireland Challenge 2010 takes place on the 10th and 11th March, the theme for the XNA Ireland Challenge 2010 is PAC-MAN (c) Namco Bandai Games Inc. 1980, 2010. The Starter Kit will be available shortly for download.
